Having established his accounting firm, J Garza CPA PLLC in 1993, it has grown to become one of the most successful accounting firms in the downriver area.  J became more community minded in 2002, first as the treasurer of the Kingsbridge Condominium Association and later as KCA President in 2004.   In 2005 and 2006, J served as president of the Gibraltar Rotary Club and now helps as the DRGO Webmaster.  In 2007 J turned his eye to public service and was elected to the Gibraltar City council, where he will act as Mayor Pro-tem.  He has been appointed to the Federal Community Block Grant Commission and the Budget Committee.  J has written articles on various topics including Education planning, Budgeting, and Identity Theft for a local newspaper, the Downriver Review.  J is fully committed to lower taxes and scaling down government to increase jobs and create in Michigan a more favorable business environment.  He is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), South Metro Association of CPAs, First Baptist Church of Gibraltar, National Rifle Association (NRA), Downriver Republican Grassroots Organization (DRGO), and a former member of UAW local 735.  J is also a backyard orchardist but most importantly J is a family man married to his wife, Joan and father to Joan’s children Amanda and Bryan.  To find out more about and see previous endorsements please visit the website at www.jgarza2008.com.
